Evening primrose oil contains around 10% gamma-linolenic acid. A polyunsaturated fatty acid that is only found in a few vegetable oils and otherwise only in breast milk. This fatty acid cannot be produced by the human body itself, but has to be ingested through food.

Gamma linolenic acid takes on a variety of tasks. It has a balancing effect on the hormonal balance and can help with hormonal imbalances. It is also essential for the development of the brain and nerve stimuli.

For very dry skin (neurodermatitis), evening primrose oil can also be used externally, preferably as a mixture with a base oil (e.g. coconut or almond oil) in a ratio of 1: 2. Evening primrose oil provides elasticity and regenerates the skin.

The oil is suitable for internal use. However, it can also simply be applied to the affected areas of the skin or given in a full bath. You can also mix a few drops of oil with your daily skin care products. This "candy" is not only great for problem skin.

Epileptics should rather avoid internal intake, as interactions are conceivable. Even in infants and toddlers under 1 year of age, there are insufficient studies on the effects of internal ingestion.
