The sesame plant has been cultivated by various peoples in North Africa and the Middle East for thousands of years.

This vegetable oil has an optimal composition of monounsaturated and diunsaturated fatty acids as well as saturated fatty acids. Oleic acid (approx. 45% monounsaturated fatty acid) and linoleic acid (40% doubly saturated fatty acid) are in perfect balance. The high oleic acid content makes the oil suitable for hot dishes and easy to store.

It also contains lecithin, which prevents the accumulation of saturated fats and cholesterol in arteries.

Our sesame oil is unroasted, so it has a very mild taste.

General information about sesame oil

Sesame oil is suitable for salad sauces, warm vegetable and fish dishes and for baking or frying. It is often used in Asian cuisine.

The seeds for our sesame oil come mainly from India.

In India, sesame oil is the skin care oil par excellence and is enjoying increasing popularity as massage oil in Austria.
