1. Regional Raw Materials – Responsibly Sourced

Our raw material comes, whenever possible, from regional farmers and organic herb growers. Only material resulting from thinning, normal forestry work, or storm damage is used – no trees are felled specifically for this purpose.

The work is carried out with simple hand tools such as an axe or pruning shears. We prefer to source herbs from long-standing regional organic partners.

2. Transport to Production

The raw material is transported from the forest or from the farmer to our in-house production facility – sustainably and efficiently, using our Steyr tractor and tipper, among other things.

3. Preparation of Plant Material

Depending on the raw material, it is chopped, crushed, precisely weighed and carefully documented.

Transparency and traceability are a matter of course for us.

4. Sustainable Heating

Our steam generator is wood-fired.
Depending on the outside temperature, it takes about 1.5–2 hours for the necessary steam to be generated – a conscious contribution to sustainable production.

5. Steam distillation

The prepared plant material is filled into the still.
The hot steam flows through the plants, dissolving the valuable oil components and transporting them to the condenser.
There, the steam condenses – resulting in: Essential oil & hydrolat (floral water).
This traditional process ensures the highest quality and purity.

6. Gentle separation

To ensure significantly better durability and quality of our hydrolats, we deliberately use a small-sized Florentine vase. This allows a higher proportion of essential oils to enter the hydrolat.

The resulting natural oil layer acts as a protective barrier and contributes significantly to stability. Our hydrolats are therefore noticeably different in terms of durability and quality from many products on the market.

In addition, the distillation process is precisely monitored, and only the amount of hydrolat is produced that corresponds to the specified ratio of the plant material used.

7. Filtration & Quality Control

Both products are carefully filtered to ensure purity and quality.
In addition, we take samples for laboratory analysis.

8. Bottling & Storage

Depending on the product, filling into small containers is done manually or by a filling machine; into large containers under a protective atmosphere; hydrolates into low-oxygen bag-in-box systems.

9. Manual Labeling

Our custom-designed labels are created in accordance with current safety and labeling guidelines and are applied by hand – including all important information regarding use and storage.

10. Sustainable Waste Recycling

After production, the plant material is used as animal feed, mulch or compost;
the still is cleaned and disinfected;
every production process and cleaning process is documented.

Then we are ready for the next harvest.
