Also known as plant water or hydrosol.
Our hydrosols are available in organic quality.
They consist of 100% natural floral water (plant water), without any additives or preservatives!
In order to offer our customers the widest possible range, we source our hydrosols (which cannot be produced at Sensoleo) from small, exclusively organic-certified distilleries whenever possible.
What are hydrosols and how are they made?
Essential oils are familiar to almost everyone, but hydrosols are still a relatively unknown treasure! Hydrosols have a wide range of uses and repeatedly demonstrate their outstanding effects and properties! During steam distillation, the steam (enriched with plant compounds) is cooled again. This creates the two components: essential oil and hydrosol. This mixture is separated by a Florentine vase. The hydrosol contains the water-soluble ingredients and traces of essential oil. Hydrosols can therefore have slightly different effects than the corresponding essential oils. The scent can also differ from the respective essential oil.
Uses:
Skin care, facial and aftershave lotion, body spray, making perfumes and essences, mouthwash, wraps and compresses, hair care, room fragrance, sauna infusions, making natural cosmetics, room and pillow sprays, and much more.
Hydrosols are ideal for babies and toddlers, as they are much safer and gentler to use than essential oils. Those who find the scent of essential oils too intense will enjoy hydrosols!
Special caution is required for pregnant women, children and infants, asthmatics, allergy sufferers, epileptics, those taking medication, underlying medical conditions, etc.! Use at your own risk; internal use is not recommended! Sources: various specialist literature on aromatherapy
