{"product_id":"bergamotte-ol-bio","title":"Bergamot Oil Organic","description":"100% pure organic bergamot essential oil (citrus bergamia)Origin: Italy, certified organic cultivationProduction: Cold pressingScent:clear, fruity, fresh, slightly sweetEffect\/Application:Bergamot oil is like a \"ray of light\" in gloomy moods. It adds a soothingly fresh, uplifting note to many fragrance blends. It also acts as a catalyst, a reaction accelerator, fully developing its own effect and that of other oils only in a blend, in synergy.Scientific studies by aromatherapist Professor Paolo Rovesti at the University of Milan showed that bergamot oil has an anxiolytic and nerve-relaxing effect, thus healing and regulating the nervous system in cases of depressive moods and anxiety.Bergamot oil is the only citrus oil in which not limonene, but linalyl acetate and linalool, the leading substances of lavender, dominate. In fact, due to its ingredients, bergamot oil is very similar to lavender oil, just as mild and skin-friendly – but because of the furocoumarins, it is not as versatile. The ingredients responsible for the sensual scent, such as jasmone, indole, and methyl anthranilate, are also found in jasmine oil, for example. They are invigorating and promote a willingness to communicate. In the perfume industry, the oil is very popular due to its vibrant scent and is included in many fragrance compositions. It is considered a \"gem\" among essential oils.Earl Grey tea gets its typical aroma from the addition of bergamot oil.Physically, bergamot oil is strongly antibacterial, antiseptic (disinfectant), antiviral, immunostimulating, fever-reducing, and antispasmodic. On the psyche, it is stimulating-relaxing, anxiolytic, and mood-lifting.Proven areas of application include sore throats, fever, headaches, nervous digestive problems, cystitis, menstrual problems, menopausal syndrome, lymphedema after mastectomy, nervous muscle tension, concentration difficulties, sleep disorders (also in children), depressive mood, winter depression, anxiety...Side effects: Since bergamot oil, due to the furocoumarins it contains, greatly increases the skin's photosensitivity (photosensitization), it was previously added to rapid tanning sunscreens. However, it turned out that this led to strong pigmentation (darkening) and allergic-inflammatory skin reactions in some people. Pigment spots can also occur if a perfume containing bergamot oil is applied to bare skin; likewise, if bergamot is part of a skin oil. Therefore, avoid strong sun exposure during external application of bergamot oil – however, 4-6 drops in 100ml of carrier oil are not a problem.Source:Werner, M., Von Braunschweig, R., 2016 Praxis Aromatherapie: Grundlagen-Steckbriefe-Indikationen, 5th edition, Karl F.
