Product information "Anise seed essential oil organic"
100% Pure Natural Organic Anise Essential Oil (Pimpinella anisum)
Raw material from certified organic farming in Austria
Produced by steam distillation of dried seeds from certified organic cultivation at Sensoleo
Fragrance:
Aromatic, warm, spicy, sweet
Effects/Applications:
Anise is one of the best-known spices of antiquity. The cultivation of this plant, native to the Orient, began in the first millennium BC.
Anise seeds are used as a spice, as a remedy (phytotherapy), and as a fragrance in perfumery.
The essential oil, a colorless to pale yellow liquid, has a warm, spicy-sweet scent.
Anise gets everything flowing, be it bile, digestive juices, or breast milk.
Its estrogen-like and simultaneously spasmolytic (antispasmodic) properties characterize the uniqueness of anise oil.
The essential oil is partially excreted through the lungs, thereby promoting the activity of the ciliated epithelium (secretomotor effect). Increased secretion and liquefaction of mucus likely occur due to the direct effect on the bronchial mucosa. Anise acts as a mild spasmolytic, carminative, and anxiety-relieving bronchial oil, which is particularly effective in children's remedies.
We are all familiar with anise candies for coughs and digestive problems.
In traditional medicine, anise oil is used to promote milk flow, to strengthen the heart and circulatory system, and for menopausal symptoms.
Caution:
Anise oil should not be ingested by babies, toddlers, or pregnant women.
Other contraindications:
- Hormone-dependent tumors such as breast cancer and prostate adenoma are an absolute contraindication for the internal use of anise oil.
- Pregnant women and infants should only be treated with minimal dosages.
- Overdoses can have a narcotic effect and cause perceptual disturbances.
